Explanation of the Text 1 Thess 3:7-8 Good News from Thessaloniki

1Th 3:7  for this reason in our distress and trouble we have been comforted about you, brethren, by your faith.
1Th 3:8  For now life is for us life indeed, since you are standing fast in the Lord.

WE have been comforted (encouraged) [parakaleo] to call near, invite, invoke by consolation, beseech, to comfort desire, entreat, to pray.
2Co 1:3  Heartfelt thanks be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ--the Father who is full of compassion and the God who gives all comfort.
2Co 1:4  He comforts us in our every affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction by means of the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2Co 1:5  For just as we have more than our share of suffering for the Christ, so also through the Christ we have more than our share of comfort.

2Co 7:6  But He who comforts the depressed--even God-- comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not by his coming only,
2Co 7:7  but also by the fact that he had felt comforted on your account, and by the report which he brought of your eager affection, of your grief, and of your jealousy on my behalf, so that I rejoiced more than ever.

The Thessalonians steadfast faith was such a great source of COMFORT to Paul in His Trials; their Holy lives and faithfulness did much to lighten the burdens and cheer this minister of the Gospel.

v.8. For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. N.I.V.
WNT For now life is for us life indeed, since you are standing fast in the Lord.

These were Paul's Sons and Daughters in the faith, and they were standing firm in the Lord despite their Persecution. Thus Paul felt He could now really live he was so encouraged.
