Explanation of the Text 1 Thess 2:11-12 Spiritual Fathers of the faith
1Th 2:11 For you know that we acted towards every one of you as a father does towards his own children, encouraging and cheering you,
1Th 2:12 and imploring you to live lives worthy of fellowship with God who is inviting you to share His own Kingship and glory.
1Th 2:12 and imploring you to live lives worthy of fellowship with God who is inviting you to share His own Kingship and glory.
Notes:
He says that they witnessed His manner of life and character while he was with them for three weeks.

Thus they showed to the Thessalonians that Christian Character and conduct were to be exemplory.
Couldn't we wish that all of us Ministers of the Good News were such examples to the new Christians from our ministry. Exemplory Character and Conduct.
Notes on v.11. Paul dealt with His children in the faith as a Father.
There are many instructors in Christ but not many fathers. " A real father loves, instructs, trains and disciplines his children." There are so many absentee fathers today that people are not trained , loved nor disciplined.
v.12 and imploring you to live lives worthy of fellowship with God who is inviting you to share His own Kingship and glory.
encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God......

Compare 2 Thess 2:14 (God called you through the Gospel we preached.
Paul here defines the goal of all Gospel Preaching and discipleship : not just to rescue from the coming wrath upon the earth; but very positively to deliver them in His Kingdom.
2 Thess 1 :5 All this is evidence that God's Judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of His kingdom, for which you are suffering.
Here Paul is referring to the great Eschatological Age into which the Church will enter having escaped the Judgment of God on unbelievers.
Gal 5:20 enmity, strife, jealousy, outbursts of passion, intrigues, dissensions, factions, envyings;
Gal 5:21 hard drinking, riotous feasting, and the like. And as to these I forewarn you, as I have already forewarned you, that those who are guilty of such things will have no share in the Kingdom of God.
So we see that "not inheriting the Kingdom of God" is paramount to facing "God's Judgment"
The Gospel or Good News proclaimed in the Four Gospels was always a message using KINGDOM language. It was the Gospel of the Kingdom and the Christian Gospel of Grace Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach. "Repent," He said, "for the Kingdom of the Heavens is now close at hand." Mat 4:23 Then Jesus traveled through all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and curing every kind of disease and infirmity among the people.
In the Acts of the Apostles we see the same Kingdom language. Acts 8:12; 14:22;19:8

Act 28:23 So they arranged a day with him and came to him in considerable numbers at the house of the friends who were entertaining him. And then, with solemn earnestness, he explained to them the subject of the Kingdom of God, endeavouring from morning till evening to convince them about Jesus, both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.
