Explanation of the Text 1 Thess 3:6 Timothy's Encouraging Report

1Th 3:6  But now that Timothy has recently come back to us from you, and has brought us the happy tidings of your faith and love, and has told us how you still cherish a constant and affectionate recollection of us, and are longing to see us as we also long to see you--

But now that Timothy has recently come back to us from you,
This verse is the Key to the whole Epistle; everything hinged on Tomothy's arrival in Corith and the News he brought.  
and has brought us the happy tidings of your faith and love, (But now or just now Timothy has come, He announced the Good News of their faith and Love.
- And that you maintain a good memory of our visit;
- They are not only following Christ but also loyal to the Missionary team. Romans 1 :9; Eph 1:16 and Phil.1:3-4.
-They maintained a fond memory of Paul and Silas visit. They followed their model or pattern as disciples.

These disciples continued to be guided by the exemplary life of his their Teacher in their absence by continually remembering him.

1 Thess 2:7 On the contrary, in our relations to you we showed ourselves as gentle as a mother is when she tenderly nurses her own children W.N.T. 1Th 2:7  even though as apostles of Christ we could have made demands on you. But we were gentle when we were with you, like a mother taking care of her children. GNB Instead of using authority, we used only the most kind and gentle methods to win you and to promote your peace and order. The word here rendered “nurse,” may mean any one who nurses a child, whether a mother or another person. It seems here to refer to a mother (compare 1Th_2:11), and the idea is, that the apostle felt for them the affectionate solicitude which a mother does for the child at her breast. Paul and Silas arrived in Thessaloniki after walking about 144 kms from Philip-pi where they had been abused, bashed and imprisoned unjustly.
